Praying for God's Power Within

Paul's second prayer in Ephesians reaches even deeper.

He prays that believers would be strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit, that Christ would dwell richly in their hearts, and that they would grasp the immeasurable dimensions of Christ's love.

Notice where Paul places the emphasis.

He does not begin with outward success.

He begins with inward transformation.

That progression becomes increasingly clear as you follow Paul's prayers chronologically in Deeper Prayer. The farther you travel with the apostle, the more you see that God's greatest work begins in the heart before it is revealed through the life.

Prayer is not simply preparation for ministry.

Prayer is where God prepares the minister.
